  29. Hi. I'm using a parnet cable between my 1200 and my 2500 that is
  30. 35' long. I had an engineer friend build it for me. He used special
  31. "low capacitance" cable.. he explained to me that each wire in
  32. the cable is wrapped with "string" to prevent crosstalk between
  33. the wires and thus allow a longer run. I spoke with Redmond Cable
  34. about this (planning to order a long cable from them because
  35. my two machines are in different rooms and thus the cable has to
  36. go around corners, etc.) and they told me that using this type
  37. of cable one could run a 45' max Parnet cable.
  38. But their price for such a cable was prohibitive so I had my
  39. friend build it for me for some software I had.

  41. (By the way, this friend of mine is Creative Computer's former
  42. head tech repair manager and also the guy who repairs every broken
  43. Opalvision card for Centaur, with a full repair lab in one room
  44. of his house, he really knows his stuff).

  46. I've had my two Amigas connected this way for months now. The 
  47. parnet delivers ZERO errors and I've noticed no ill effects on either
  48. machine at all.
